Dipika Smith
Dipika is the Director of Immortality’s Flame-Waves. Since a very early age she has enjoyed both acting and singing. After studying Indian dance at the Bhavan Centre in London, she turned her attention to theatre, both directing and acting. She has staged, among others, The Singer of the Eternal Beyond, which toured London, Paris, Vienna, Toronto, Montreal, and New York. Most recently Siddhartha Becomes The Buddha touring London, Prague, New York, Zurich, and Geneva. In London Dipika has directed plays at the Barons Court, The Questors, The Tabard, and The Union.
Jayashri Wyatt
Jayashri is a classically trained ballerina. She has danced professionally as a character dancer with the Dance Works Company, and the Elizabeth Patterson Dance Company in Toronto. After turning her sights to theatre, she trained at the University of Guelph under George Luscombe and playwright Judith Thompson. Jayashri has performed in a number of different roles in New York with Immortality’s Flame-Waves. In 2005 she had an extended stay in London during which she peformed in Siddharta Becomes The Buddha at the Union Theatre.
Suruchi Gero
Suruchi made her professional stage debut aged twelve at the Theatre Royal Windsor, in Jack and the Beanstalk. Trained at Elmhurst Ballet School and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, she worked as a director and choreographer for a number of years. She then went on to found the musical theatre course at the Guildford School of Acting; the first of its type in the UK. Suruchi first joined Immortality’s Flame-Waves in 1995. Since then she has been a regular contributor, both as an actress and a set designer.
Sharada Crowe
A graduate from Oxford University, Sharada is a founder member of Immortality’s Flame-Waves. She has performed in many productions, including The Singer of the Eternal Beyond, The Fight Over Heaven, My Rama is My All, and most recently Siddhartha Becomes The Buddha.
Nurari Merry
Nurari entered acting through studying acrobatics at Circus Space. She brings out comic aspects of each character she plays. In the past she has taken part in comedy workshops in China and New York. Her previous performaces for Immortality’s Flame-Waves include The Singer of the Eternal Beyond, The Sacred Fire, The Fight Over Heaven and Siddhartha Becomes The Buddha.
Shankara Smith
Shankara has been in Immortality’s Flame-Waves since its beginning, performing in, amongst others, The Singer of the Eternal Beyond, My Rama is My All, and The Sacred Fire. She has also played Hermione in The Winter’s Tale. Shankara has her own music group, Temple-Song-Hearts, which has performed extensively in Europe and Russia, most recently in France.
Bhashini Neve
Bhashini was a member of Les Escogriffes drama society at Edinburgh University and performed in Marivaux’s Les Fausses Confidence at the Edinburgh Festival. During her time with Immortality’s Flame-Waves she has played character roles such as Utanka in The Singer of the Eternal Beyond, and Kaikeyi in My Rama is My All. She is currently studying in France.
Veronika Kuliskova
Veronika trained at the Performing Arts School in Trencin, Slovakia. At the age of fourteen she moved to the conservatory of J.L. Bellu Banska Bystrica where she studied all forms of dance, including modern, classical ballet and folk. In 2004 she started with the professional dance company Studio Tanca. Studying and performing contemporary dance, she has toured within Europe and Japan. It was after she saw Siddhartha Becomes the Buddha in Prague that Veronika became a member of Immortality’s Flame-Waves.
Madhurima Englebrecht
Madhurima studied classical ballet for four years before catching the acting bug. She is presently living in Denmark, and has recently finished a short film with Ungdomskole. Other theatre credits include Schiller’s Joan of Arc, The Fight Over Heaven, and Siddhartha Becomes The Buddha. Madhurima is the youngest member of the company at fifteen years of age.
